Save Burngreen Lodge

Cathie Craigie MSP is holding a public meeting at Kilsyth Community Church on Thursday 28 February at 6.30pm to protest against the proposed closure of Burngreen Lodge Care Home.

Plans are being put forward to North Lanarkshire Council's Housing and Social Work Committee on Wednesday 27 February proposing that new admissions to the Burngreen cease.

Cumbernauld and Kilsyth MSP Cathie Craigie has arranged this meeting to enable people in Kilsyth and Villages to show their support for retaining the valuable service Burngreen Lodge provides for the local community.

Cathie Craigie MSP said:

"I am very concerned that if this downgrading of facilities for elderly residents by the Council goes ahead, it will lead to the eventual closure of Burngreen Lodge."

"I therefore urge readers to a public meeting at Kilsyth Community Church on Thursday 28th of February from 6.30pm to discuss how we as a community can save Burngreen Lodge for Kilsyth and Villages."

"Although I know you may not be personally affected by this closure, the Burngreen Lodge is a much-loved home for many older residents of Kilsyth and is a valuable and needed care facility in our community. Burngreen Lodge is a safe and homely environment for our older people and we must do everything we can to save it."
