| Cathie Craigie MSP welcomes the election this week of Iain Gray as Leader of Labour in the Scottish Parliament, and Johann Lamont as Deputy Leader.
Following the resignation of Wendy Alexander MSP, party members, elected representatives and affiliates took part in a Scotland-wide ballot to elect both positions.
This week the SNP announced central heating will in future be 'targeted' despite the repeated assertions by the First Minister that they would 'enhance and improve' the programme.
Local Labour MSP Cathie Craigie said:
"I am delighted that Iain and Johann have been chosen to lead Labour in the Scottish Parliament."
"This contest has been a great opportunity for members to debate the future of the Scottish Labour Party. All the candidates put forward positive policies with great energy and enthusiasm."
"I look forward to working with Iain and Johann as they take Labour's message to Holyrood and across the whole of Scotland."
