Scottish Football Association Launch in Cumbernauld

Cathie Craigie MSP welcomed Scottish footballing legend Kenny Dalglish MBE to Cumbernauld on Wednesday for the launch of McDonald's sponsorship of the Scottish Football Association's Quality Mark Award.

The local Cumbernauld and Kilsyth MSP attended the training session with the Cumbernauld Colts at Guys Meadow Ground to mark the club becoming the first in the region to achieve the Quality Mark Development Award.

Cathie Craigie MSP said:

"Cumbernauld Colts are a perfect example of how to involve young people in sport through grassroots football."

"It was great to watch the training session led by Kenny and see the enthusiasm and commitment of the boys and girls to football. McDonalds should be commended for sponsoring such a worthy scheme that will provide much needed support to the hard-working volunteers that run local football."
